FLEXIBILITY

Our flexible delivery methods allow you to complete the Certificate in Personal Training course online, in the environment of your choosing and in your own time. We allow a maximum of three months for each module but most students complete the course in a much shorter period. There is no minimum time frame which means you can complete the course as quickly as you like. It all depends on how many hours you put in to study each week.

CERTIFICATE IN PERSONAL TRAINING MODULES

Module Topics Covered
Nutrition for Health Management Nutrition principles, body fat and nutrition, exercise for fat loss, managing overweight clients, eating disorders, sports nutrition.
Exercise Science and Client Screening Applied anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, postural screening, fitness evaluation techniques, physiology of healing/injuries.
Exercise Instruction and Advanced Conditioning Advanced exercise planning and programming, exercise for common special requirements, motivational psychology, organizing and conducting programs, leadership and instruction, resistance training principles, sports specific resistance training, functional training, using a wide range of resistance apparatus, weight training exercise techniques, advanced exercise techniques.
Specialty Training for Children and Older Adults Exercise programming designed for older adults, children and adolescents.
Personal Training Business Essentials Client interaction, occupational health and safety, team leadership, attending meetings, legal issues, business management, marketing, planning, conducting sessions, client management, various training modalities, professionalism, marketing strategies and promotions, selling skills, client management tools, business planning, financial management.

QUALIFICATIONS ISSUED

Students completing all modules will receive the Certificate in Personal Training. The qualification enables graduates to register with REPs NZ in the following categories:
  • Exercise Consultant
  • Personal Trainer
Note, graduates who wish to obtain the Australian qualifications (Certificate III & IV in Fitness) would need to complete a Level 2 First Aid course (that meets the Australian requirements). On evidence of the First Aid qualification the Certificate III & IV in Fitness will be issued.

Course delivery

This course can be completed online. You can enrol anytime and can expect to start within 24 business hours. You have up to three months to complete each module (most people finish much sooner). All resources including narrated PowerPoints, video clips, notes, activities, assessments and student support are included in the cost of the course.
